DUKES CELEBRATE SENIOR DAY ON FRIDAY NIGHT AGAINST COASTAL

James Madison men's basketball hunts for its seventh straight win on Friday night, as the Dukes are set to take on the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers to close the regular season at 8 p.m. inside the Atlantic Union Bank Center.
The Dukes have won six straight games, entering Friday with a record of 17-13 (9-8 Sun Belt). Coastal Carolina is 18-12 (10-7 Sun Belt), most recently taking down Georgia State 76-71 on Feb. 24.
These two teams met last week in Conway, S.C., with the Dukes coming away with a 67-65 win over the Chants.
This game will also mark the end of the regular season for both teams.

NUMBERS TO KNOW

44: JMU freshman Christian Brown finished with a block last night against Georgia Southern, bringing his 2025-26 season total to 44. He is now second on the JMU all-time freshman list for blocks, trailing only Andre Nation (47, 2012-13).
94: JMU guard Cliff Davis finished with 22 points and four threes againt Georgia Southern, bringing his season total to 94. He now is in sole possesion of fifth place on the JMU single-season threes list, needing one to tie Stuckey Mosley (2018-19) and Kyle Swanston (2008-09) for third.
13: JMU enters this game with a season-long six game winning streak. In the past two seasons under Preston Spradlin, the Dukes own a record of 13-4 in the month of February and are 6-1 this season, only falling to Louisiana on Feb. 4.
13: Cliff Davis has scored in double figures in 13 straight games entering Wednesday's game. In conference play this season, Davis has seven 20-point games and is averaging 17.2 points per game in league contests. He has also shooting 41.1 percent (60-of-146) from three in SBC play.
68: JMU is is 68-19 (.782) in home games overall and 27-8 (.771) against Sun Belt Conference opponents since the Atlantic Union Bank Center opened ahead of the 2020-21 season. The Dukes are 11-3 at home this season and 24-5 at home under Preston Spradlin the past two seasons.

LAST TIME OUT

James Madison defeated Georgia Southern 82-66, outscoring the Eagles 44-29 in the second half and outrebounding Georgia Southern 37-25.
JMU shot 54.2 percent from the floor and 9-of-18 from behind the arc while also knocking down 21-of-26 shots from the free throw line.
Cliff Davis finished with 24 points to lead all scorers - his third straight 20-point game. Preston Fowler notched a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds - career highs in both categories.
Eddie Ricks III finished with 10 points, four rebounds, and five assists in 29 minutes, while Kose Egbule finished 3-for-3 from three to finish with 10 points and four assists.
Tyren Moore led Georgia Southern with 20 points, but Georgia Southern shot just 37.7 percent with Moore going 6-for-16.
The Eagles finished 7-of-32 (.219) from deep. Despite forcing 17 JMU turnovers, Georgia Southern only had five fast-break points.

JMU TO HONOR FIVE SENIORS

The James Madison men's basketball program is set to honor five seniors prior to Friday's game: Kose Egbule, Bradley Douglas, Cliff Davis, Gabe Newhof, and Justin Taylor.
The Dukes will also honor three senior managers pregame: Ella Handerahan, Max Lanham, and David LaBella.

WITH WEDNESDAY'S WIN...

JMU won its sixth straight game, the longest in the Sun Belt Conference and 10th-longest nationally.
JMU moved into sole possession of eighth place in the Sun Belt men's basketball standings.
The Dukes improved to 13-4 in the month of February under Preston Spradlin.
JMU improved to 13-1 under Spradlin when shooting 50 percent or greater from the floor. The Dukes shot 54.2 percent (26-of-48) from the floor, their second game in a row at 50 percent or greater.
The Dukes are also 14-4 in home Sun Belt Conference games under Spradlin and 24-5 at home overall the past two seasons.

LAST TIME VS. COASTAL

James Madison and Coastal Carolina met on Feb.18, with the Dukes coming away with a 67-65 win over the Chanticleers.
Cliff Davis led JMU with 22 points for his fifth 20-point game of the season.
Joshua Beadle scored 31 points to lead Coastal Carolina, but missed a free throw with 0.4 seconds left to help the Dukes come away with the win.
The Dukes outscored Coastal 40-16 in the paint, outrebounding the Chanticleers 40-37.

JMU VS. COASTAL CAROLINA

James Madison and Coastal Carolina have met eight times. JMU has won all eight meetings.
The first meeting between the two schools took place on Jan. 8, 1987, a 110-95 JMU win at home.
All seven other meetings have taken place as Sun Belt Conference opponents (since 2022-23).
