As a junior:  Did not compete for JMU, but finished just one shot off the cut at the 2005 U.S. Amateur, nearly becoming the first Duke to ever advance to match play.  As a sophomore: Competed in eight tournaments... posted a career best round 68 at the Rutherford Intercollegiate hosted by Penn State... finished in the top-25 at four tournaments, including a 19th place finish at the CAA Championships.  As a freshman: Played in six tournaments... first collegiate top-five finish at The Tillinghast (74-69), a fourth place tie with teammate Dennis Gosier... at The Tillinghast, he was one of two players to shoot a round in the 60’s on the second day, pacing JMU to the team title.  High School: Was a member of the team that won the IAC Championships in 1999, 2000, and 2001 and the Private School Metro Championships in 2000... was the 2001 Private School Metropolitan Champion... earned All-League honors four times and was named All-Metro his junior and senior years... set a school record for the best average his senior year.  Personal: Born September 19, 1983... son of Michael and Susan Scheffres... majoring in sports management with a minor in business... enjoys playing basketball and watching movies.
