Mackenzie Collyer joined the James Madison athletic communications staff in January of 2020 and will serve as the primary contact for swimming & diving, volleyball and softball.

Collyer comes to JMU after serving as the athletic communications intern at Washburn University during the fall of 2019. While in Topeka, Kansas, Collyer was the primary contact for women's soccer, cross country, men's and women's tennis, men's golf and JV basketball. She assisted with the game day operations for all primary sports at Washburn.

Prior to Washburn, Collyer worked in the Roanoke College Athletic Department in event management and sports information. She was in charge of game day operations for women’s soccer, men’s basketball and men’s lacrosse for the 2018-2019 school year. Collyer worked with the media during the 2019 NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball National Championship, as well.

Collyer graduated Cum Laude from Roanoke College with a bachelor's of science in sport management with a minor in communications. She is a Windsor, Conn. native and currently resides in Harrisonburg.
