NORFOLK, Va., Oct. 8, 2006 -- Junior forward Lisa McKenzie (Inverness, Scottland) scored two goals to lead Old Dominion (12-1-0, 4-1-0 CAA) to a 2-1 win over James Madison (5-7-1, 1-3-1) in Colonial Athletic Association women's soccer Sunday afternoon.
With the game tied at 1-1, McKenzie scored the go-ahead goal with under seven minutes to play. The game-winner came on a breakaway as Jenni Purdum (Vienna, Va.) passed to McKenzie, whose shot was deflected by JMU freshman goalkeeper
Diane Wszalek (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) but trickled over the line for the score.
Four minutes into the match McKenzie scored on an unassisted goal to give ODU a 1-0 lead.
With 31 minutes left in the match, JMU got the equalizer when senior
Natalie Ewell (Richmond, Va./James River) passed to freshman
Corky Julien (Williamstown, Ontario/Char-Lan District), who pushed the ball by Monarch sophomore goalie Lauren Tupman (Virginia Beach, Va.).
JMU outshot the Lady Monarchs 11-8. ODU sophomore goalie Colby Owen (Virginia Beach, Va.) had three saves in the first half, and Tupman had a save in the second half.  JMU's Wszalek finished with two saves.
