WOMEN'S SOCCER SHUTS OUT VIRGINIA TECH 2-0

HARRISONBURG, Va., Sept. 2, 2007 -- James Madison (2-0-0) scored once in each half as the Dukes beat Virginia Tech (1-1-0) 2-0 in women's soccer Sunday evening at the JMU Soccer Complex.
Both JMU scores came on breakaways.
In the 30th minute, junior Kimmy Germain (McLean, Va./Langley) sent a pass from behind the midfield line ahead to senior Annie Lowry (Butler, Pa./Butler). Lowry dribbled downfield and beat Tech redshirt junior goalkeeper Ashley Owens (Greensboro, N.C./Western Guilford) with a left-footed sharply-angled shot to the far corner of the goal.
In a similar play with under five minutes remaining in the game, sophomore Jess Remmes (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) delivered a long pass ahead to freshman Cate Tisinger>
