NORFOLK, Va., April 17, 2009 ? The sixth-seeded James Madison men's tennis team was eliminated from the Colonial Athletic Association Championships with a 4-1 loss to third-seeded William & Mary on Friday at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center on the campus of Old Dominion University.

The Dukes got off to a good start, taking a 1-0 lead after doubles play. JMU's number one pairing of junior Mike Smith (Fairfax Station, Va./Robinson) and sophomore Matt King (Lorton, Va./Robinson) started things off with an 8-4 win over Keziel Juneau and Sebastien Vidal. The Tribe rebounded with an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles before sophomore Yaroslav Voznenko (Kherson, Ukraine/Kherson Technical School) and freshman Ville Maaranen (Joensuu, Finland/Juensuun lukio) sealed the point for Madison with a 8-5 win at No. 3.

W&M came right back in singles play, winning four singles matches to advance to the semifinals

Sophomore Jared Robinson (Johannesburg, South Africa/St. Stithians) led his match against Juneau 6-4, 5-4 when the match was ended with the result already in hand.

The Tribe will take on the two seed VCU in Saturday's quarterfinal action.
