OXFORD, Miss. - The James Madison women's golf team completed the third and final round of the 2016 Rebel Intercollegiate Sunday, placing 13th as a team at the Par-72, 6,323-yard Ole Miss Golf Course.
Sophomores
Maddisen Cox (+11, T-21st) and
Laura Gomez-Ruiz (+13, T-30th) led the Dukes on the individual leaderboards all three days of the 54-hole tournament. The duo has now finished 1-2 for the Dukes for the fifth consecutive tournament dating back to the 38th Annual Pat Bradley in October of 2015.
Also competing for the Dukes on the weekend were freshman
Jordan McKelvin (+18, T-56th), senior
Kelsey Solan (+25, 81st) and freshman
Carley Cox (+35, T-87th). In total, James Madison finished with 930 strokes to end 66-over par with 15 combined birdies highlighting the weekend.
The Troy Trojans wrapped up a wire-to-wire team victory, finishing at 7-over par, a whole 17 strokes better than the second-place Ole Miss Rebels. The Trojans were led by freshman Fatima Cano who stood atop the individual leaderboard at 7-under par following a 6-under 66 in the final round.

Katie Turk (+27, T-83rd) competed as an individual on the weekend.
The Dukes return to the course on Friday, April 15 when the 2016 Colonial Athletic Association Championships kick off in Southport, N.C. The winner of the tournament will secure a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
UP NEXTThe CAA Championships will be played at the Par-72, 7,100-yard Reserve Club at St. James Plantation. Last year's tournament saw the Dukes place fourth with three individuals in the top-10 while the College of Charleston took home the trophy.
