HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison women's tennis stretched its win streak to three as the Dukes (12-5, 2-1 CAA) secured a pair of 6-1 wins on Saturday, taking on Duquesne (10-6, 3-1 A10) and Norfolk State (1-6, 0-1 MEAC) in a doubleheader.
Freshman Jona Roka stretched her personal win streak in singles to four, including her first win at the No. 2 position when she dropped Ana Popovic (NSU) 6-2, 6-0. Both senior Timea Guibe and junior Kimmy Herrock pushed their singles win streaks to three, remaining undefeated at home.
Roka holds a team-best 13 dual victories in singles play, while Guibe and Herrock each have 11. Sophomore Emma Petersenreached the double-digit win column for duals on Saturday with her comeback victory (6-7, 6-2, 6-4) over Duquesne's Julianne Herman at No. 2 singles. Herman came into the day riding a four-match win-streak with a 13-2 overall dual record.
Senior Rebecca Harrisand Petersen teamed up for two doubles victories at the No. 2 position, stretching their win streak to three.
