SANLANDO PARK, Fla. – James Madison women's tennis stretched its win streak to four on Tuesday with a 7-0 shutout against Hampton.
JMU swept the Lady Pirates (1-2) at doubles before winning all six singles matches, five coming in two sets.
The neutral-court win is the third 7-0 victory for the Dukes (8-2, 1-0 CAA) this season. At 8-2, the Dukes are off to their best start since going 9-1 through the first 10 completed dual matches of the 2004-05 season.
The reigning Colonial Athletic Association Doubles Team of the Week, senior Timea Guibeand junior Kimmy Herrock stretched their win streak to three as a duo with a 6-2 victory at No. 1 doubles over Mariam Mitaishvili and Kristina Titova.
Over the current four-match win streak, freshman Jona Roka has won all four of her singles matches. She cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win over Mikaela Pierce at No. 5 singles on Tuesday.
