FARMVILLE, Va. - Freshman 
Walker Cress of the James Madison men's golf team shot an even-par 72 on Sunday morning, leading the way for four Dukes on the final day of the Manor Intercollegiate, hosted by Longwood at the par-72, 7,246-yard Manor Golf Club.
 
Cress, who improved a pair of strokes each round over the weekend, climbed six spots on the leaderboard Sunday to finish in sole possession of 28th in the 90-player field, closing his tournament at 6-over 222 (76-74-72).
 
Senior 
Poom Pattaropong logged JMU's highest finish of the weekend, closing Sunday in a tie for fourth and earning his first top-five finish of the season at 1-under 215 (71-70-74). Junior 
Jack Floydd moved up a spot after a final-day 1-over 73 put him tied for 14th at 3-over 219 (71-75-73), while senior 
Connor Walters wrapped up the Dukes' competition in a tie for 70th at 237 (79-77-81).
 
All four Dukes played as individuals at the Manor Intercollegiate.
 
UP NEXT
The Dukes will close out their regular-season competition next weekend, April 8-9, when they head to Kannapolis, N.C. for the         Cabarrus County Irish Creek Intercollegiate, hosted by Davidson and Charlotte at The Club at Irish Creek.
