ELON, N.C. – Fourth-seeded James Madison women's tennis advanced to the semifinals of the 2017 CAA Women's Tennis Championship after blanking No. 5 Delaware 4-0 on Friday morning at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
JMU (17-7) notched the first point after going the distance in doubles competition. The Blue Hens (12-7) earned a victory at No. 3 as Brooke Pilkington and Arielle Shuren edged out sophomore

Rebecca Harris 6-3, but JMU answered as senior

Kimmy Herrock tallied a 6-3 victory at No. 1 to even the score.

Dylan Owens earned the doubles victory with a 6-3 triumph at No. 2 to give the Dukes a 1-0 advantage heading into singles competition.
JMU got off to a blazing start during singles as Harris topped Amanda Studnicki at No. 6 (6-3, 6-2). Petersen extended JMU's lead to 3-0 as she rolled past Sara Komer with 6-1, 6-2 finals at No. 2.
It was Guibe that delivered the final blow as she defeated Brooke Pilkington 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1 to secure JMU's 4-0 victory over Delaware.

Timea Guibe has won 10 consecutive singles matches, all at the top position. She has a team-best 18 duals wins (18-5) and a team-high 27 overall singles victories (27-7) as a senior.
