HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison women's tennis dropped its second consecutive match following a 4-0 defeat against VCU on Tuesday afternoon at the Hillside Courts.
The Dukes fell to 17-3 on the year, while VCU improved to 13-4.
In doubles, the Dukes grabbed a quick win after junior
Emma Petersen and freshman
Anna Makarova dispatched VCU's Paola Delgado and Sofia Sualehe, 6-2, at No. 2. However, VCU grabbed victories at No 1 and No. 3 doubles to clinch the point and take a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.
In singles, straight-set wins at the No. 3, 4 and 5 positions allowed VCU to clinch the match by a 4-0 decision.
With the match clinched, play was stopped, with the Dukes leading at No. 1, 2 and 6 singles.
