ANNAPOLIS, Md. – James Madison track & field earned eight top-five finishes and won two event titles at the Navy Indoor Invitational on Saturday afternoon inside the Wesley A. Brown Field House.
Jordyn Henderson opened her senior campaign with an 8.44 first-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles. The Dukes closed their season opener with a victory in the 4x400-meter relay in 3:52.26, run by the quartet of
Esther Saint-Germain,
Faith Fuqua,
Christine Fitzgerald and
Holly Mpassy.
How It Happened
- Kaia Putman picked up silver in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.71.
- Freshman Faith Fuqua finished third in the 200-meter dash in 24.99, followed by Putman (25.08) in fourth.
- Holly Mpassy ran the fifth-fastest 500-meter time in program history, crossing the finish line in 1:14.92 for third. The JMU record is 1:13.49, set by Anoush Stamm in 2020 at the Liberty Kickoff in Lynchburg, Va.
- Elsewhere on the track, Christine Fitzgerald clocked in at 58.33 for fifth in the 400-meter dash in her collegiate debut.
- Classmate Grace Mimnaugh produced a mark of 11.27m (36-11.75) to round out the top five in the triple jump competition.
