WILMINGTON, N.C. – The James Madison men's golf team wrapped up its participation in the Seahawk Intercollegiate on Monday afternoon with a ninth-place finish out of 16 teams at the par-72, 7,030-yard Niklaus Golf Course in Wilmington, N.C. on Monday.
After darkness halted Sunday's 36 holes, the teams wrapped up the second and third rounds Monday.
Owen Kose, Václav Tichý, and
Daniel Cheng tied for 39th in a field of 96 golfers, leading the Dukes with three-round aggregate scores of 227 (+11).
Kose carded a first-round 76 (+4) before wrapping up his final two rounds with a two-over 74 and a 77 (+5). Tichý and Cheng carded the Dukes' best round of 72 (E) on the third and final round of the tournament. Tichy rebounded from a first-round 81 (+9), improving his score in each of the next two rounds, while Cheng also improved his score each round, finishing with a 54-hole score of 227 (79-76-72).
Nick Schlickenrieder finished tied for 51
st while shooting 230 (81-75-74), while Sigurður Blumenstein rounded out the team's effort with a 236 (76-85-75) and a tie for 77th.
