LEXINGTON, Va. – James Madison track & field finished a successful weekend at the VMI Invitational, registering two event titles on the final day of competition inside the CPTF-Corps Physical Training Facility.
How It Happened
After winning the 300-meter dash on Friday, Holly Mpassy came back to win the 400-meter competition, crossing the finish line in 56.74.
Jordyn Henderson went 8.62 in the 60-meter hurdles for first, her second victory in the event this season. Teammate Kam'Dyn Thomas came in fourth in 8.83, good for 10th in the JMU record book.
Freshman Izzy Greene placed fourth in the mile in 5:13.98.
Kaia Putman rounded out the top five in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.70. She later finished runner-up in the 200-meter dash (25.28), followed by Faith Fuqua in fourth (25.44).
Freshman Grace Mimnaughproduced a personal-best triple jump mark of 11.41m (37-5.25) for sixth.
Elsewhere in the field, Ryann Bennett recorded a career-best throw of 12.75m (41-10) in the shot put.
