LAS VEGAS – James Madison alumna
Sophie Davis signed with the Vegas Thrill of the Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF) ahead of the 2025 season.
Davis, the native of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., enters her second year as a professional after she was picked 24th overall in the inaugural PVF draft in December 2023. She spent the 2024 season with the Omaha Supernovas, appearing in six matches and 13 sets for the league-champions, finishing with 14 kills and five blocks.
At JMU, the middle blocker led JMU to a pair of appearances in the Division I Women's Volleyball Championship (2022, 2023) and left the Dukes as the career record holder in hitting percentage (.372), solo blocks (136), block assists (447), and total blocks (583.0). She was named an Honorable Mention All-American following the 2023 season, joining M'Kaela White (2018) and Janey Goodman (2016) as honorable mention selections in JMU history.
White is also beginning her second season as a member of the Orlando Valkryies.Â
