COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The James Madison women's golf team concluded its two-day stay at the Terrapin Invitational with a 12th-place finish on Monday afternoon.
Freshman Isabella Flores led JMU with a tie for 40th in the 83-player field at the par-72, 6,279-yard Maryland Golf Club with a 54-hole score of 229 (+13). Flores opened play on Sunday with consecutive scores of 75 (+3) before a 79 on Monday.
One stroke behind Flores was senior Tatum Walsh, who closed play as JMU's No. 2 finisher at 230 (+14). Walsh produced her best round of the tournament in the second round Sunday at 75 (+3), sandwiched between a 76 (+4) in the first round and a third-round 79.
Hannah Rabb tied for 51st with a three-round total of 231 (+15), finishing with an 81 on Monday after two scores of 75 (+3) on Sunday. Junior Kayleigh Reinke climbed 11 spots on Monday with a 76 (+4) - the Dukes' best score in the third round – and tied for 56th with a 54-hole aggregate of 232 (+16).
JMU finished 12th in the 14-team field at 922 (+58). Michigan claimed the team title at 877 (+13), while hosts Maryland finished in fourth at 886 (+22).
Maria Atwood – who played as an individual outside JMU's lineup - tied for 69th, which included an ace in Sunday's second round on the 158-yard, par-3 eighth hole. She produced a 75 (+3) in the second round. Lauren Waxer-Gooding rounded out the JMU contingent in Maryland with a tie for 75th at 242 (+26).
The Dukes have concluded their regular season and will head to Point Clear, Ala., and the Lakewood Golf Club for the 2025 Sun Belt Championship, set for April 14-17.
