HARRISONBURG, Va., Mar. 29, 2009 ? The James Madison men's tennis team picked up a 7-0 win over Howard on Sunday on the campus of JMU in Harrisonburg, Va.

The Dukes improved to 6-11 overall, while dropping the Bison fell to 2-10.

HU struggled through injuries and could only play with five players. They were forced to forfeit the No. 6 singles match and the No. 3 doubles match.

With a one-point lead in doubles play, Madison went on to clinch the doubles point after sophomore Matt King (Lorton, Va./Robinson) combined with junior Mike Smith (Fairfax Station, Va./Robinson) for an 8-4 win over Michael Gee and Christopher Brown in No. 1 singles.

JMU ended up sweeping doubles play as sophomores Jared Robinson (Johannesburg, South Africa/St. Stithians) and Yaroslav Voznenko (Kherson, Ukraine/Kherson Technical H.S.) picked up an 8-5 win over Chad Jones and Omar Haloui in No. 2 doubles.

The Dukes continued their solid play as they won all six singles point, highlighted by a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 4 by senior Brian Rubenstein (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) over Jones.

Next up for Madison is a trip to Wilmington, N.C. next weekend for the Colonial Athletic Association Round Robin to take on Delaware, Drexel and UNC Wilmington in the two-day event.Â
