HARRISONBURG, Va., April 10, 2012 - In its final Colonial Athletic Association match before the conference championship, the James Madison men's tennis team defeated George Mason 7-0 on Tuesday. With the win the Dukes improved to 10-9 on the season and 3-2 in the CAA. The Patriots fell to 14-7 and 1-2 in conference play.

Madison started off by winning the doubles point, beating Mason 2-1. Senior Tommi Nissinen (Oulu, Finland/Kastellin Luki)) and junior Hugo Ramadier (Rome, Italy/Lycee Francais Chateabriand (Northern Arizona)) took down the Patriots' Jimmy Davis and Taylor Sargent 8-4 in the No. 3 position. Mason's duo of Scott Keaton and Joseph Wiggins then tied up the race for the doubles point, knocking off juniors Ryan Pool (Melbourne, Australia/Braemar(Chattanooga)) and Florent Sentenac (Borderes, France/Lycee Theophile Gautier(Auburn Montgomery)) 8-5 in No. 2.

In the top doubles position, JMU's Bertrand Moulin (Lyon, France/Aux Lazaristes Minimes(Wayne State)) and Greg Vladimirsky (Coral Springs, Fla./Broward Virtual) topped Jordan Dyke and Chris Borden 8-4 to earn the doubles victory for the Dukes.

Nissinen continued the run for the Dukes, beating Sargent, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 5 singles to give Madison a 2-0 advantage early in the match. Vladimirsky followed in the No. 1 spot, beating Dyke, 6-0, 6-3, and Ramadier defeated Jorge Osuna, 6-2, 6-1, in the three spot to ensure the JMU win.

Sentenac followed in No. 4 with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Keaton, and junior Bastien Russo (Lyon, France/Notre Dame des Minimes(Shorter)) topped Wiggins 7-6(3), 6-3, to make the lead 6-0 in favor of the Dukes.

Pool wrapped up the JMU sweep in No. 2 singles. He defeated Davis 6-2, 7-6(4) to earn his 13th victory of the season.

JMU wraps up its regular season on Thursday, April 12. Madison hosts Longwood in a rescheduled match from March 25. The Dukes take on the Lancers at 2 p.m. at the Hillside Tennis Courts.
