HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison women's tennis opened its spring-dual season in winning fashion, taking down Georgetown, 7-0, on Sunday afternoon at the East Campus Tennis Courts.
The Dukes improved to 1-0 on the season, while the Hoyas fell to 0-2.
In doubles play, JMU earned victories on courts two and three to secure the doubles point.

Michelle Los Arcos handled business on court two with a 6-1 victory over McHaley Ho and Agata Mikos. Senior
Amanda Nord and redshirt junior
Natalia Nikolopoulou clinched the doubles point for the Dukes, beating Morgan Coburn and Avantika Willy, 6-2.
The Dukes carried that momentum into singles play, winning all six matches, including five in straight sets.

Kylie Moulin was dominant on court three, downing Ho, 6-3, 6-1. Nikolopoulou followed right behind her on court two, overcoming an early deficit. After falling behind 4-1 to Chloe Bendetti, she rallied back for a 7-5, 6-2 triumph.

Daria Afanasyeva secured the team win for the Dukes on court one, outlasting Avantika Willy by scores of 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. That included making a third-set comeback, winning four straight games after falling behind 3-2.
Freshman
Hope Moulin earned her first career home victory for JMU with a big first-set comeback on court five. After falling behind 4-1 to Olivia Ashton, Moulin took control en route to a 6-4, 6-3 win.
On court four, Nord had a first set comeback of her own in a tightly-contested match against Mikos. After falling behind 3-0, she rallied back and won in a tiebreak before fending her off in the second, winning the match, 7-6 (3), 6-4.
The clean sweep for the Dukes came off the racket of Voloh on court six, as she cruised past Coburn, 6-3, 6-2.

The Dukes travel to Charlottesville. Va., next week to participate in the ITA Kickoff Weekend. They will play #7 Virginia on Friday, Jan. 28 at 3 p.m. JMU will also take on either #16 Stanford or Arkansas on Saturday, Jan. 29.
