HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison women's tennis made quick work of Drake on Sunday afternoon, cruising to a 4-0 win at the East Campus Tennis Courts.

The Dukes won their third consecutive match to even their record at 5-5 (1-0 SBC), while the Bulldogs dropped to 4-7.

JMU swept doubles play, winning a pair of tiebreakers, while earning three singles wins. One doubles victory and one singles triumph came by way of forfeit due to only five available players for the visitors.

Cate Broerman and
Ines Oliveira captured wins in both doubles and singles, while
Daria Munteanu and
Alexandra Prudente were part of the tiebreak doubles victories.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Doubles Play
- JMU started the match with a doubles advantage due to a Drake forfeit on court three.
- The Dukes would claim the doubles point in a tiebreak on court two, as Broerman and Prudent rallied from down 5-4 to take the match, 7-6 (3), against Rebecca Ehn and Darinka Stepan.
- JMU closed doubles with another thrilling tiebreak victory on court one. The team of Daria Munteanu and Oliveira trailed 4-3 before coming back to beat Mille Haagensen and Ines Stephani, 7-6 (4).

Singles Play
- Just like doubles play, JMU began singles with a win by forfeit on court six due to Drake only having five available players for the match.
- The lead stretched to 3-0 on court three, as Oliveira capped off a dominant home weekend with a 6-1, 6-1 triumph over Ehn.
- Broerman clinched the match on court two, fending off Haagensen in straight sets, at 6-4, 6-3.
- Two other matches went unfinished, as Munteanu trailed Stephani 6-7, 4-5 on court one, and Hope Moulin led Stepan, 1-0, in the opening set. Prudente's matchup on court five did not start due to the clinch.
