Katie Fricke,
Samantha Grimes and
Cassidy Strittmatter of James Madison field hockey were named 2024 NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction, the organization announced Friday morning.

The program acknowledges exceptional undergraduate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher through the fall semester, nominated by their NFHCA member coaches.

All three Dukes earned the honor for the first time in their careers. Additionally, the trio was previously named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad and the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team.

The NFHCA saw 275 student-athletes from over 70 institutions achieve recognition as 2024 Division I Scholars of Distinction.

Monmouth paced the pack, landing 12 student-athletes on the list, while Michigan State and Louisville each placed 11.
