WASHINGTON, D.C., Feb. 28, 2009 ? The James Madison men's tennis team picked up its first win of the season with a 5-2 win over Georgetown on Saturday.
The Dukes improved to 1-7 with the win, while dropping the Hoyas to 1-8.
Madison took two of three doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead on Georgetown. Senior Brian Rubenstein (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) combined with sophomore Jared Robinson (Johannesburg, South Africa/St. Stithians) for an 8-6 win over Andrew Bruhn and Adam Gross in No. 2 doubles. The doubles point was sealed with a 8-6 win in No. 3 doubles by sophomores Matt King (Lorton, Va.
