RADFORD, Va., March 28, 2012 - With the match tied 3-3, junior Greg Vladimirsky took Radford's Nick Sayer, ranked No. 78 in the nation, three sets before falling, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3. Sayer's 11th straight win gave the Highlanders a 4-3 victory over the James Madison men's tennis team in non-conference action Wednesday at the RU Tennis Courts.

JMU started the match on the wrong foot, getting swept in doubles play to trail 1-0 early in the match. Sayer and Thomas Dahaen dropped the Dukes' Bertrand Moulin and Vladimirsky 8-1 in the top doubles position and Igor Ogrizek and Stijn Meulemans took down Tommi Nissinen and Hugo Ramadier 8-4 in No. 3 doubles, securing the point for Radford. Joe Mills and Patrick O'Keefe completed the sweep when they topped Ryan Pool and Florent Sentenac 8-2 in the No. 2 postion.

Meulemans gave RU a 2-0 advantage, defeating Sentenac in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 3 singles.

The Dukes began their comeback at No. 5, where Ramadier took down Mills in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, to cut the JMU deficit to one. Nissinen knotted it up defeating O'Keefe in No. 6 singles by the same score.

The Highlanders regained the advantage at No. 4 singles. Dehaen topped Moulin in a hard fought 6-4, 6-4 decision but Pool struck back for JMU. He earned the victory of Ogrizek, 7-6, 6-1, at No. 2 singles.

Vladimirsky gave everything he had, but Sayer was able to overcome in the top spot, giving Radford the 4-3 victory with his three-set win.

The Dukes are back in action on Friday, taking on Delaware in a 2 p.m. matchup in Norfolk, Va.
