LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The James Madison women's golf team battled through a blustery final round on Tuesday, holding onto a ninth place finish at The Show at Spanish Trail, hosted by UNLV on the par-72, 6,402-yard Spanish Trail Country Club.

After opening with rounds of 299 and 289 across Monday's 36 holes, the Dukes faced consistent 15mph wind and gusts clearing 30mph on Tuesday, holding their spot in ninth place and finishing just two shots behind eighth-place New Mexico with a final score of 905 (299-289-317).

Freshman
Tatum Walsh continued her strong debut season for the Dukes, climbing into a tie for 13th among 84 players on the final day, posting rounds of 73-72-76 (+5) to capture the third top-15 finish of her freshman year.

Redshirt sophomore
Kendall Turner took home a tie for 41st (76-73-78) at 227 (+11), with redshirt junior
Kate Owens just two shots behind in a tie for 47th (75-68-86). Owens' second round marked her best collegiate round to par and was tied for the second-lowest round in JMU history.

Amelia Williams (79-76-79) and freshman
Kayleigh Reinke (75-77-84) closed out the scoring for the Dukes in 68th and a tie for 71st, respectively.

The Dukes will be take the remainder of February off from competition, getting back to work at the River Landing Classic, held March 7-8 at River Landing Golf Club in Wallace, N.C. Last year at the same event, the Dukes
broke or tied every individual and team record tracked at JMU.
