RICHMOND, Va. – James Madison men's tennis had three doubles tandems go unbeaten on the weekend while the team combined for 31 total victories at the annual River City Tennis Open (Oct. 3-5), held at Richmond's Westhampton Tennis Complex.
Zach Fleishman went 6-0 to lead the Dukes, as he won two of his three singles matches in three sets and teamed with
Francisco Sinopoli for three doubles victories.
Also turning in 3-0 doubles ledgers were the teams of
Ryan Morgan and
Aurelien Schmitt and
Harrison Lee and
Ty Wunderlich.
Aside from Fleishman, seven other players recorded winning records in singles with 2-1 marks. They included
Esteve Agusti,
Grant Kroodsma, Lee,
Gur Libal, Morgan,
Damian Sancilio and Sinopoli.
As a team, JMU was 19-11 in singles play and a solid 12-3 in doubles action.
JMU is back in action next week in Blacksburg, Va., for the ITA Atlantic Regional Championship, which takes place Oct. 9-13.
